Ahl-ul Bayt (Peace be upon them)
"O People!

Indeed ahead of you is the blessed month of Allah.
A month of blessing, mercy and forgiveness.
A month which with Allah is the best of months.
Its days, the best of days; its nights, the best of nights; and its hours, the best of hours.
It is the month which invites you to be the guests of Allah and invites you to be one of those near to Him.
Each breath you take glorifies Him; your sleep is worship, your deeds are accepted and your supplications are answered.

The Scroll of Fatima al-Zahra PDF Print E-mail

The Reason of Coming Down of Scroll Hadith

On the third of Shaban (3rd year A.H), a very dear newborn opened his eyes to this world and shed another light in the house of Ali Ibn Abi Talib and Fatima: Imam al-Husain as the forth child of this family was born.

The place and statues of this child before God was so high that God endowed the holy Prophet with a divine Scroll to honor him. And the holy Prophet found no one more deserving than Fatima - his daughter – possessing the Scroll; therefore he gave it to her. This Scroll includes significant points in Monotheism, Prophethood, Resurrection (Ma’ad), al-Walaya (guardianship of the Imams), name of the Imams, their characters, the future (end) of the world, and a report about the era of Absence of Imam al-Mahdi the 12th Imam and his Reappearance.

***

From this precious document only two manuscripts existed: one, the original, which was in the hands of the holy Prophet and was passed down from one Imam to the next and the other a copy, written by Jabir ibn Abdullah Ansari, and kept with him for safekeeping. When Jabir went to Hazrat Zahra’s house to offer his congratulations on the birth of Imam al-Husain, Jabir was shown the Scroll by Hazrat Zahra and was allowed by her to make a copy from it.

Jabir, an elderly companion of the Prophet, lived more than 100 years and was alive until the Imamat of Imam Muhammad al-Baqir (the 5th Imam).

The 6th Imam - Ja’far al-Sadiq- said: “one day, my father - Imam al-Baqir - said to Jabir: “I have something to tell you, whenever you have time, let me know.” So a time was set. Imam al-Baqir said: “Tell me about the Scroll you saw with my mother, Fatima, the daughter of the Prophet, and the words she told you about that Scroll and its contents.”

Jabir said: “By God, a day in the time of the Prophet I came to your mother, Fatima to offer my congratulations on the birth of Imam al-Husain. In front of her, I saw a green Scroll which seemed to be made of emerald with white writings on it (shining) like the sun.

I said: “O’ the daughter of the Prophet, what is this scroll?” she said: “This is a scroll from God, given to the Prophet as a gift and in it are the names of my father  (Muhammad), my husband (Ali), my two sons (Imam al-Hasan and Imam al-Husain) and the names of the prophet’s successors which are my descendants. My father (the Prophet) gave this Scroll to me as glad tidings”.

Jabir continued: “Your mother Fatima gave that Scroll to me, and I read it and made a manuscript from it.”

Imam al-Baqir told Jabir: “Will you show me that Scroll?” Jabir replied: “Of course, you have more authority over it than I do”. Imam al-Baqir came to Jabir’s house and Jabir brought a manuscript. Imam al-Baqir said: O’ Jabir! Look at your manuscript while I read from it (from the original one to compare them) Jabir looked at his manuscript and my father started reading. Not a vowel differed between them.

***

Imam al-Sadiq said this story to one of his special accompanies, Abu Basir. Abu Basir told it to Abd al-Rahman Ibn Salim. And gradually, the content of this Scroll was quoted to others and now it is recognized as “The Scroll of Jabir”, or “The scroll of Fatima al-Zahra”.

This holy document has been quoted in several authentic Islamic books. We have cited it from the book “al-Kafi” written by the great Shia scholar, Muhammad Ibn Yaqub al-Kolaini (d:329 Hejri) to show in the eleventh century after his passing, one of many, of the Ahl al-Bait precious relics preserved in his book.

The day of the expansion and spreading of the Earth

On the occasion of the 25th Zilqada, the day of “ Davol Arz” (expansion of the earth), we present some points on this subject.

The first place of worship, which was constructed on the orders of the Almighty Allah, was the holy House of Kaba at Mecca. It was built by the Prophet Ibrahim (A.S) and restored and renovated by Prophet Ismaeel (A.S).

In reality, the day of “ Davol Arz” is the day when the earth was expanded and enlarged from beneath the holy Kaba. We know that in the beginning, all the Earth was covered by water due to the heavy cyclones and rains. After the passage of time, these waters gradually settled beneath the earth. Slowly, the dry lands appeared after the residing of the water. As per the Islamic traditions, the first part of the land which appeared from above the water was the holy land of Mecca.

The land of Kaba is called as the “ Ummul Qura”. The meaning of “ Um” is the basis, beginning and the foundation of every thing. The foundation and the beginning of emergence of all the dry land on the earth and whatever is surrounding it has appeared and manifested from the holy land of Mecca. The night of the 25th Zilqada ( Davol Arz) is a respectable and grand night.

During this night, the Mercy of Allah descends on His creatures.

It has been narrated in a tradition from Imam Reza (A.S) who said, “ The Prophet Ibrahim (A.S) and Prophet Easa (A.S) had been born during this night. The earth had been expanded and enlarged from beneath the holy Kaba. Thus, anyone who will keep fast during the day, it is as if he has fasted for sixty months. In another tradition, the holy Imam (A.S) has said: “ The rising of Imam Zaman (A.S) ( Hazrat Mahdi ) will take place during this day”.

A lot of worship has been enjoined and recommended for this day. It has been said that anyone who performs worship in this night, hundred years of worship will be written for him.

During this day, it has been highly recommended to observe fast, recite supplications, invocations and to seek forgiveness from the Almighty Allah. This will become the cause for the descending of His Mercy and Bounty.

In the book of “ Mafatih – ul – Jenan” ( book of Dua), for this holy and respectable day, there is a Dua and supplication in which the Almighty Allah has been remembered as “ Daiul Kaba”.

It means that the Almighty Allah is the spreader and expander of the holy Kaba and the One who splits the seeds and the remover of the difficulties and problems. We ask and seek from Him by the right ( Haq) of this day which has been made holy by Him and which is a trust for the believing people, that He should look at us in a mercy way and favours as with His generosity and forgiveness.

Till the day of the gathering on the day of Judgement, May he protect us from the contamination and pollution of our period ……

At the end of this Dua, we pray for the reappearance of our Maula and our Imam Zaman (A.S). We seek from Allah that the angels be his protector as His religion will be perfected and made pure by our Imam Zaman (A.S).

We seek from the Almighty Allah that He includes us from amongst the companions and supporters of Imam Zaman (A.S).

We seek from the Almighty Allah that He grants us this favour to perceive and observe the period of the reappearance of our holy Imam Zaman (A.S).

At the end, we recite Salawat and send salutations upon him and reciprocally, we wish that we receive his Salaam also.

Meanwhile, it has been highly recommended and Mustahab to recite and perform the Ziarat of Imam Reza (A.S) during this day.
