Imam Sajad (p.b.u.h.) and his companions had gathered together in a very nice and friendly meeting. A throng of followers have surrounded the holy Imam and are eagerly talking with him. Imam, himself, sometimes listens to a nice talk and sometimes says a nicer one. All of a sudden, a man who was one of Imam's relatives, entered and with a loud voice started to insult Imam and address him with indecent words. Surprisingly, while he was insulting the holy Imam, Hazrat Sajad (p.b.u.h.) was silent and just listening. He even didn't open his mouth to say a word. When the man left, Imam turned to his companions and asked: "You heard what that man said. Now I would like you to join me to go to his home and hear my response to him." They became happy and told Imam: "Oh you the son of Allah's prophet, it would have been better if you'd answered right away and had also let us to join you." The holy Imam headed towards the man’s house. On the way, Imam was whispering a verse of the holy Quran, Chapter Ale Emran: "Those who suppress their anger and forgive the other people." When they arrived, Imam asked his companions to call the man and say inform him that Ali Ibn Hussain, the son of Imam Hussain, is at the door and waiting for him. The bold man, who was prepared to face Imam's anger, come out. But what he saw was completely different from he expected. With a kind and smiling face, Imam looked at the man and (like a compassionate father) asked him: Oh brother, you came to me just a few minutes ago, and charged me with whatever you liked. Now if what you addressed me with, was true, I ask God's forgiveness for myself, and If it was not true, I ask God to forgive you. When the sinful man was treated like this and saw his kindness and generosity, approached him and kissed Imam's forehead and said; "What I said about you was true for myself, and I deserve it."
