Abu Yaqzan Ammar ibn Yasser Anasy originated from Mezhaj of Yaman was the confederate of bani Makhzom tribe lived in Mecca.

He was born about 57 years before the Prophet migration to Medineh in  Makhzom tribe. His father Yasser and his mother Somayyeh were of the pioneer Muslims and  the first martyrs of Islam.

In his 48 years of old, and  in the first years of Be’sat while staying in holy Prophet’s house, Ammar embraced Islam and he accepted all tortures to die bravely to keep his decision.

He was considered as a Yaman's  immigrant  lacking any social  status or position  in  Mecca.

Unfaithful and idol-worshippers of Macca tortured Muslems like  Ammar, Bilal and Soheyb. Sometimes they naked them, having them sleep in the burning sun of Hejaz on the hot land and beat them; sometimes they forced them to wear  armor and made them sit in hot weather in the sunlight; and sometimes they put a big rock on their chest to compel them to give up their religion and leave prophet Mohammad PBUH .

Due to  these  kind of tortures,  Ammar along with a group of Muslims migrated to Ethiopia, and later, when Mecca enjoyed relative calmness, they returned to this city and then migrated to Medina.

Prophet contracted a brotherhood treaty between he and Hazifeh ibn Yaman . Amar was a very significant role during the construction of Nabi mosque ( mosque of Prophet). When Osman insulted him, holy Prophet said:

" (You will inhabit in heaven. You will be killed by Oppressors.)

He accompanied the holy Prophet in Badr, Uhud, and other wars and in all wars he was a  pioneer of Muslim Army.
After the demise of the holy Prophet, Ammar , alongside Salman, Meghdad, and  Abuzar ( the most important members of  Shia circle) was very active.
He was one of the serious opponents and protesters to Saqifah event and  defended Imam Ali’s right in various situation.

To defend Islam, he took part in Yamameh war in the 12th year of lunar calendar and lost his ear. Ammar was appointed as the governor of Kufa for a while.

It is Quoted that when Osman confronted Ammar’s logical and explicit criticism to his government plundering the wealth of Muslims, Osman beated him severely to his abdomen caused to Ammar ‘s HERNIA disease.

After the murder of Osman, Ammar was one of those who invited people to make an allegiance to  Imam Ali and he himself was one of the pioneers in this way. Since then, he was the loyal adviser and follower of  Imam Ali (p.b.u.h.). He attended the wars of Jamal and  Seffin .He was killed in Seffin  in the year 37 AH at the age of 94.

Amir  Almomenin became very sad due to Ammar’s  martyrdom and when he saw Ammar’s lifeless body said:

“May God have mercy on him on the day he was born, on the day he was killed, and on his resurrection day.”

ًThen he prayed to his body and buried him in the region of Seffin .
