In the Name of Allah, The Beneficent, The Merciful

Peace is upon you, O Master of the Faithful.

O Allah! Curse is upon the killer of Amir-ul-Mumenin

It was two days from the dawn of the 19th of Ramadan until the twilight of the 21st of Ramadan. But those two days was heavier and weightier than two centuries. Behind the muddy and simple house of Amir-ul-Mumenin Ali (A.S) in Kufa, there was uproar and pandemonium. The doctor had recommended milk for Ali (A.S). For years, these orphan children got their food through the beneficent hands of Ali (A.S). Today, they were seeking to give food to their own dear father.

There was tumult and uproar near the house. Everybodyhad come to the house to give sympathy to his Maula during the finalhour of his life. Imam Hasan Mujtaba (A.S) had a difficult time. Hisone leg was inside the house and his other leg was outside the house. When he would enter the house, he would see the pale and indisposedface of his father. But, when he would set foot outside the house, thepeople would gather around him as halo surrounding the moon.

Whenever he would be asked about the health andcondition of Imam Amir-ul-Mumenin Ali (A.S), it was as if a wound wascut in his body. With these wounds in his heart, he would enter thehouse and see his dear father.

The eyes of Kufa, nay, the eyes of the universe and thehistory of mankind would wait anxiously to hear the words of Imam Hasan(A.S) about the state of his ailing father.

Asbagh Ibne-Nobata is the old companion and faithfuldisciple of Amir-ul-Mumenin Ali (A.S) who was present in thisgathering. During one of these times that Imam Hasan Mujtaba (A.S)comes out of the house, Asbagh seizes the opportunity and seekspermission for visiting the threshold of his master. Asbagh is aware ofthe state of his Maula. But, he has come to hear some more words duringthe final hours from the holy tongue of his Imam (A.S) of the time.Though, these words are limited and few, what is important is that itsprings forth from the divine knowledge.

But, it cannot be compared and contrasted with the humanknowledge. Will he be given the permission of entering or will he berefused? Imam Mujtaba (A.S) has come from such a household which it hasbeen rightly attributed about them as " Sajjiyatakumul Karam".

Generosity and nobility is always their method andhabits. This has always been and continues to be the manners of thisilluminating household. And that too, during these precious moments andfor narrating a tradition which will be a provision for the futuregenerations. Asbagh enters the house and sits in front of his injuredmaster.

He looks at the courageous face of his master that wasgradually turning pale. A yellow turban was tied on his head to preventblood from oozing from his head. All the heavens were weeping for theoffense committed through the sword of the worst criminal on earth.

Asbagh cries and weeps as the cloud of spring weeps. Hedoes not know which of these two are more yellowish: The pale face ofhis master or the red colour of his master’s turban.

" O Asbagh! Do not cry nor weep nor wail. By the Almighty, I see the Heavens in front of me".

Unlike all the other times, this time, the heavenlyvoice of the master of the universe does not console Asbagh. But likethe ferocious wind during a storm, he wails, cries and weeps. And likethe broken ship of love and affection which is thrown on the ups anddowns of the thunderous waves, he remembers those sweet hours of hissittings with his affectionate master. He murmurs with himself, cries, and weeps.

Asbagh loves to utilize and make the utmost from those precious hours. He knows that these hours will never come back.

" May I be sacrificed in your way. Do talk with me.Narrate to me the sayings of the holy Prophet (S.A). I know that Ishall never see you nor hear from you the sayings of the holy Messengerof Allah (S.A). I love and like to see you in such a state that I amhearing the divine words from your holy tongue".

Asbagh speaks and waits to listen attentively.

The rose garden of Wilayat, though being hurt andoffended from the thorns of Ibne-Muljim, opens his eyes and the lips ofthe revelation beings to speak. From this divine ocean, Asbagh sees thecity of the knowledge of Medina speaking thus.

" O Asbagh! Once, I went to visit the holy Prophet (S.A)in the same way as you have come to visit me. The holy Prophet (S.A)told me, O Abul Hasan: go and gather the people in the Mosque. Ascendthe pulpit and sit in one place below my place on the pulpit. Then, recount and say to the people that the holy Prophet (S.A) has sent metowards you. I have come to narrate his message for you. Then, say tothe people:

Be aware! Curse of Allah is upon the one who is cursed and anathematized by his parents.

Be aware and informed! Curse of Allah is upon the one who runs away from his master.

Be aware! Curse of Allah is upon one who does not paythe fees and remuneration or does injustice and ill treatment to hishired workers.

O Asbagh! I obeyed the instructions of my friend, theMessenger of Allah. I narrated the three sentences from the HolyProphet (S.A)." Then, somebody rose from the corner of the Mosque andsaid, " O Abul Hasan! You have said three sentences, but you said themin brief. Explain and describe those subjects for us."

Ali (A.S) said, "I went back to the Holy Prophet (S.A)and asked these questions from his holy threshold. Do you know what theHoly Prophet (S.A) did?

Give me your hands.

Asbagh puts forward his hands. Amir-ul-Mumenin Ali (A.S) takes the hands of Asbagh and says:

"The holy Prophet (S.A) took my hands in such a way andsaid, O Abul Hasan! Know that you and I are the fathers of this Ummat.Curse of Allah will be upon the one who are cursed and anathematized byus.

Know and be informed that you and I are the Maula andmaster of this Ummat. Curse of Allah is upon the one who runs away andescapes from us.

Know and be aware that you and I are the two who employand hire this Ummat. Curse of Allah be upon the one who dose injusticeto our right and remuneration."

Ali (A.S) recites " Amen" after the end of the saying ofthe holy Prophet (S.A). Asbagh also says "Amen" at the end of the duaof his master.

Imam Amir-ul-Mumenin Ali (A.S) becomes unconscious andfaints. The whole universe faints, swoons, and goes in a state of comaduring that period.

What was passing through the mind of the criminal andmurderer who had seized and grabbed the flowing source and blessingfrom this universe?

What should we do in this mourning and sorrowful period?

Is there a sympathy or condolence for them? Can we be pacified and soothed?

Can we see, not cry, and weep. We can only near ourselves to the dear and beloved ones of Saheb-uz-Zaman.

We can only see the chastity of the Imamat in the state of weeping and wailing.

From the extensive earth till the verandah of theheavens, one will see the sea of wailing and lamentation at thedeparture and bereavement of the master of the universe; the separationof the talking Book of Allah. Did you not see how the headband of theholy Quran had been torn off?

If you cry and weep from the eternal dawn till theeverlasting evening, you would not have still drunk a drop from theocean of disaster and afflictions.

Heavens have taken over themselves the colour of theblood from the day the accursed son of Muljim cast a fatal blow on thefatigue but enamoured hearts of the lovers of the holy threshold of themaster of the masters.

Look at the drops of the blood on the innocent face ofthe dawn. During the twilight of that morning, the tents of thereligion had burnt. The smoke is still billowing and can be seen in oureyes.

And from that day, the blood of the hallowed forehead ofour master found its old connection and relation with the blood of thebereaved hearts of his lovers.
