In the name of GOD
Happy wishes to you on the auspicious birthday of Ali (A.S), the guide of the lost ones and the pinnacle of mercy. There is a consensus among the Shiite and Sunni scholars and historians that Hazrat Ali (A.S) was born in the holy Ka’ba. He is the only one to be born in the holy House of the Almighty Allah. Nobody was born in this Holy House before him and none would be born so after him. This magnanimity and virtue is to his credit only.
It is famous among the Shiites that Amir-ul-Mumineen
(A.S) was born on 13th Rajab, 30 years after the year of elephant. In
this regard, we narrate the sayings of a few Sunni scholars.
“ Ali (A.S) was born inside Baitul Haram in Mecca.
According to dome narration, he was born on 13th Rajab, 30 years after
the year of elephant and before him, none was born in Ka’ba.
Hakem Naishabouri in his book “ Mustadrak as – Sahihain”
, Vol 3 , page 483 has considered this matter to be reliable and
authentic. He says: In repeatedly stated traditions it has come down
that Fatemah – bints – Asad gave birth to Amir – ul – Mumineen Ali –
ibn – Abi Talib (A.S) inside the holy Ka’ba.
Ibne – Athir in the book “Asad – ul – Ghaba , Vol 4 ,
page 31 narrates a tradition from Ali (A.S) who narrates from the holy
Prophet (s.a.w.a) as such: “ O Ali , your position is like the position
of Ka’ba. In the same manner as the Ka’ba is fixed and immovable and it
is the people who have to turn towards it, like wise , you need not
turn towards the people but it’s the people who have to turn towards
you.”
Ibne Abil Hadid in the book “Sharh Nahjul – Balagha” Vol
1 says: “ The Almighty named his as Ali (A.S) . Fatemah – binta – Asad
, mother of Hazrat Ali (A.S) says : When I wanted to come out of the
holy Ka’ba, an invisible caller proclaimed: “ O Fatemah, name his as
Ali as the Almoghty says: His noble name is Ali . I have given him this
name from My Own Name.
The Shiite scholars of hadith have also narrated the
above traditions in their books. Amongst them, we may mention Shaikh
Mufid in “ Al – Irshad” , Allama Majlisi in “ Bihar – ul – Anwar” ,
Ibne Shar Aashoob in “Manaqeb” , Ardebeli in “ Kashful – Ghumma” and
Shaikh Saduq in “Aamali” .
In “Kashful – Ghumma” , Ardebeli narrates a tradition
from Yazid – ibn – Qaannab as such: “ We were sitting besides the holy
Ka’ba in the presence of Abdullah – bin – Abdul Muttalib and a group of
people from Babi Al – Azza. Suddenly, Fatemah – binta – Asad while
pregnant entered Masjid – ul – Haram. She felt pain and cried out: O
Allah, I have faith in Thee and Thy prophet and acknowledge the
heavenly Book and the sayings of my ancestor Ibrahim – e- Khalil . I
bear witness that he constructed thy house. I beseech Thee to make easy
my delivery”. At this stage, we saw the holy Ka’ba split open from the
rear. Fatemah entered the Ka’ba and disappeared from our door of the
Ka’ba but failed to do so. We realized that is a divine affair. On the
fourth day, Fatemah came out from the Ka’ba and while holding Amir – ul
– Mumineen (A.S) in her arms, she said: I have taken precedence over
the women in this world.
The vital point that can be seen in this tradition is
faith and belief of Fatemah – binta – Asad in Allah and His prophet and
heavenly Book. Moreover, even before the holy Prophet’s mission, she
had faith in the religion of Ibrahim – e – Khalil.
Fatemah – binta-Asad – bin – Hashim – bin – Abd Munaf –
bin- Qusi was mother of Ali . she was the first lady to swear
allegiance to the holy Prophet (s.a.w.a) and the eleventh person to
have accepted Islam. The holy prophet (s.a.w.a) offered prayers over
her dead body. Thereafter, he shrouded her with his own clothes and
then laid her down in the grave.
“ Two greedy persons never get satiated, the seeker of knowledge and the seeker of this world.”
